mcbeth 1

To include or not to include
To me this scene truly has no meaning or purpose to the play. I don’t agree with that fact that the play needs comic relief because if a play is not a comedy then a play is not a comedy. For the fact that in the play the Macbeths need time to change into there nightgowns then adding a scene like this doesn’t hurt but in my mind it also doesn’t help the play at all either. As for contemporary jokes I don’t think that it matters if the jokes were familiar to those people during that time period I don’t believe that it really matters if the jokes are understood or not if it doesn’t belong in the play then it should not be there. But if it is because giving a job to someone who needs it then I am all for that, people have to eat and people have to make money and if I am directing the play and to help a man feed his family all that I have to do is give him a couple of lines than I am pretty sure that I would do that. I have mixed feelings about this I don’t believe that this scene makes sense or belongs in the play and I don’t think that it should be in there but if I lived in that time period and somebody needed a job and all I had to do was give him a couple of lines to make some money that he needed so guess I am saying that I would grudgingly of kept the scene in the play

blog 8, report on Hamlet

I have spoken to Hamlet today and I have tried to examine him and his madness. Some people do believe that he is mad and this may be very well and true because he is acting very strange. But I thought that maybe just maybe there is a reason to his madness that he is not crazy and is playing off his madness for a purpose that is not known to us, but that I hope to soon find out. When I seen Hamlet today my first thought and words was to ask him if he knew who I was, and he answered wrong, he thought of me as a fishmonger, could this be that he is so crazy as to not know who I am. So I kept asking him pointless and meaningless questions just to see how he would answer and to see if Hamlet was really crazy, but pretty much every answer that I have received from Hamlet did not make sense, But what he says seems to have some kind of meaning that only Hamlet can understand.. I don’t understand though how he could speak of my daughter but not know who I am, one minute he doesn’t know me then the next he talks to me of my daughter. Mad maybe but there is a method to his madness I say, and if I am not mistaken I think I herd a couple of hidden insults thrown my way from Hamlet that I do not much appreciate.

sorry blog 4 much ado about nothing

In act five Hero her family and the priest staged her death. When Claudio hears of this he is highly upset. He tells her father that he will do anything for him because of how badly Claudio treated and disgraced his daughter. In the first part of his punishment Claudio was made to write a poem which clears Hero’s name of all that she was accused of and expresses Claudio’s love and also Claudio’s regret of which he has done. He promises that he will visit Hero’s gravesite the same day every year. The second part of Claudio’s punishment was that he had to marry one of Leonatos other nieces instead of Hero. I personally believe that Claudio is truly and genuinely sincere in his love of hero and I also believe that he is truly sorry for what he did. I believe that Claudio deserves another chance with Hero because he got tricked by what he thought was a friend that his Hero was cheating on him. I am a firm believer that your friends come before a girl and if I was in that situation I would’ve believed him as well. Maybe he should have tried harder in his act of finding out the truth but when you’re in love as Claudio says that he was it hurts too much to even see that person. That is probably one of the most crushing feelings in the world. And if Hero thinks that he deserves her which she must have because she winds up to go on and marry him than that is truthfully all that matters, because no matter what who or when YOU live YOUR life for YOU, and your happiness is what truly matters because without happiness what kind of life is that.

Othello Blog 1

Brabantio is very upset that Othello married his daughter Desdemona, he doesn’t want her marrying Othello he accuses Othello of having his daughter under a spell. He believe that if his daughter was under her own thinking and power that she wouldn’t of married Othello, he believed that she would of married someone of higher class and of more wealth. He is trying to protect his daughter he doesn’t believe that this man is good enough for her. Leonato on the other hand when he finds out why Hero’s FiancĂ© Claudio doesn’t marry her yells and gets mad at Hero. Hero was set up and Claudio was lead to believe that Hero was talking to another man in her window at night. Claudio then goes on not to marry her, and Leonato feels ashamed of his daughter and at first is against her because he feels that she has disgraced his families name. There is a big difference there in how each of the fathers handled the situation and big difference in thought. Brabantio was behind his daughter because he believed that his daughter wasn’t herself when they were married, so he took all of his frustration out on his son in law Othello. And Leonato took a different approach, he didn’t even want to hear his daughter out at first and believed all these false accusations and was mad and yelling at his daughter. He took the word of another man over the word of his own daughter.

Blog # 2

Diary entry number one. My feelings on love are that I have no feelings. I don’t feel as if I can give my love to any women. What is the point of falling in love with just one women when me Benedick am a merry bachelor, I can have any and all women that I want why would I want to be tied down, men and women are not meant to be tied down. I will live a bachelor.
Diary entry number two. Oh Beatrice what am I to do with her. She challenges me mentally wit for wit. I feel that she is a rare parrot teacher. She talks too much and she is very mean to me. She isn’t even funny but she thinks that she is. This is why men and women and there relationships together are just so complicated, we are both so guarded that we feel the need to put down and make fun of each other. She is the one lady that makes fun of me because I feel as if I am loved by all ladies.
Oh Beatrice why to you talk about me the way you do, there is something about my Beatrice there is something about the way she can challenge me something about her beauty that I am just totally attracted to. I feel as if my stubbornness is wearing off because I think yes me Benedict the merry bachelor who is loved by all may be falling slightly attracted to the annoying but lovely Beatrice. No I don’t think so not yet.

Shakespeare In Love Blog # 1

As you can see in the film Shakespeare In Love that William Shakespeare put his heart and sole into his writing. There are different aspects about his life that effect Shakespeare’s writing. His friends and associates played a big part in Shakespeare’s plays. In the movie Shakespeare In Love the owner of the movie house used to tell Shakespeare what the title of his play should be and the type of play that he should write. Shakespeare also got ideas from other writers and friends, in the movie another writer gave him the start of a plot to Romeo and Juliet and another actor gave him the idea for the title.
I think Shakespeare’s biggest inspiration for his writing came from his love of the women that would come into his life. When the movie starts Shakespeare was suffering from writers block, he couldn’t seem to put his thought onto paper he lacked inspiration. Then Shakespeare meets a women and he goes on to write the first scene to his next play that very day. After a short while Shakespeare catches that women having sex with another man and his inspiration is gone and he goes back to having writers block. Then later in the movie Shakespeare winds up meeting the love of his life and he winds up writing a whole play about her and there relationship and he called Romeo and Juliet. Shakespeare wrote plays on what he thought love was, but society didn’t want romance and drama society wanted comedies. The Queen of England said that true love cannot be shown in a play, but her mind was quickly changed after she saw Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.
